Organizer → Events → Create event opens a short form. On a wide screen the poster sits beside the fields. On a phone the poster stacks above them.
Fields on the short form
- Event title
- Category
- Description — required. The field opens a text editor. Write the event itself. A slogan does not stand in for the description.
- Date and time, and Event timezone
- Price — Free or Paid. A paid amount uses your organization’s currency. Change the currency in the full editor.
- Location — In person, Online, or Hybrid. Leave it unset and the location stays To be defined.
- Capacity — Unlimited unless you enter a number
- Requires approval — No unless you turn it on
The poster is optional (JPG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB).
Slogan / subtitle is absent from this form. Add one later in the full editor if you want a line under the title. Publishing does not require it.
Advanced options, at the top right, opens the full editor for recurring dates, the story, extra tickets, and the rest. From there, Simple form returns to this page.
A meeting link for an online or hybrid event is optional on this form. Add Zoom or Google Meet in the location panel, or later. See Zoom for online events and Google Meet for online events.
Save
Click Save. The event is stored as a draft and stays off the public site until you publish.
Choose Paid before a payout profile exists and Wanepass opens payment setup — Stripe, or PawaPay when that payout path is the one already started — so you can finish it before selling.
After a successful save, choose Publish now or Open the full editor. The editor is where you refine tickets, dates, and Zoom.
Publish checklist
Review & Publish loads publish readiness for this event. A green check and the Done label appear only when a step’s status is complete. A step that does not apply is marked N/A (“Not required for this event”). An incomplete required step is marked Required and blocks Publish Event. The line under the button reads “Complete all required items above to publish.”
| Step | Complete when |
|---|---|
| Organization | An organization is selected |
| Location | To be defined or online needs no venue. In person and hybrid need a venue. In the full editor these are TBA, Virtual, In person, and Hybrid. |
| Event dates | At least one valid date |
| Ticket tiers | At least one ticket |
| Payment profile | A paid or donation ticket needs a payout method. Free events show N/A. |
| Event title | Title of at least 3 characters |
| Description | Description text of at least 10 characters. A slogan does not fill this in. |
| Category | A category is selected |
| Refund policy | The event is refundable and the policy is written. Otherwise N/A. |
| Privacy | N/A on a public event. A private event needs its access rules, including a password when you chose one. |
A slogan is not a checklist step.
On the same screen, choose Public — listed on Wanepass or Private — hidden from directory and search engines, then click Publish Event.
If Publish now on the save screen cannot go live, open the full editor and finish every row marked Required.

In the full editor, Extras (Optional) holds the agenda, FAQ, lineup, age policy, and parking. See Adding an agenda to your event. For in-person events with an address, the event page shows a Google map and directions automatically.
See Setting up ticket types, Choosing your currency, and Event visibility settings.
